There are many opportunities for volunteers to have satisfying experiences with clients and staff at Day Stay.  We make every effort to find just the right match between our needs and the volunteers’ interests, skills and available time.  It is very important to us that your experience with us is a rewarding one. We want you to feel good about your service to our clients.  Here are a few suggestions to help you decide if you would like to volunteer with us.

• Holiday/Birthday parties:  Come join the staff to put on a special event; serve refreshments, lead games or visit with clients.  1-2 hours on assigned day.
• Group and Individual games:  Volunteers may lead Bingo, Hangman, indoor bowling, and other games or they may assist  clients with card games, board games or puzzles. 1-2 hours.
  
• Arts and Crafts:  Volunteers are needed to assist clients in simple craft activities planned by the staff.    1-2 hours on assigned day.  
• Reading/Socializing:  Individuals or small groups of clients enjoy conversations with volunteers or being read to by volunteers.
•  Music/dance:  All clients enjoy hearing instrumental music (we have a piano).  Choir and dance groups are always a treat.  1 hour
•  Pet visits:  Most clients enjoy interacting with trained, well behaved pets.
  
•  Devotions:  Many of our clients enjoy non-denominational, inspirational worship services.
•  Personal care:  Some of our clients enjoy a manicure once a week including      polishing nails.
